Bradnam's Direct Fix CAD Details 1st February 2012
Bradnam's direct fix details have been removed from our website effective 1st February.
This is due to the release on 1 August 2011 of NZBC clause E2/AS1 amendment 5 makes changes to direct fix details that from 1 February 2012 become the only acceptable solution.
Bradnam's cavity construction details (WANZ WIS) will remain and are still available for use until 31 July 2013 as they have passed the VM test under amendment 4 (which has a 2 year phase out period).
We are updating our installation details and will put new details online which reflect amendment 5 changes as soon as they are available.
Bradnam's have changed the design of head flashings and sill trays to meet amendment 5. Bradnam's products all have integrated or applied soakers and have had for the last 5 years. Support bars were originally designed by WANZ to do exactly what the DBH are now requiring and have been available for 4 years.
WANZ will support the amendment 5 changes to help provide clarity within the industry, particularly now that the WANZ support bars have been adopted for most cavity construction details (required for all windows with a trim opening wider than 600mm).
