Soakers Made Mandatory in E2/AS1... 10th November 2011
NALCO Building Products Manager Michael Petersen said "The patented crimped corner soakers Bradnam's have been using for the past 9 years on windows has not gone unnoticed by the industry. Recently the DHB in E2/AS1 Amendment 5, went so far as to require corner window soakers on mitred aluminium windows and door sills as a secondary preventative device."
This endorses the NALCO patented designs introduced 9 years ago by Bradnam's in their WeatherTight™ suite. NALCO have for the last 5 years been requiring our Bradnam's and Nulook fabricators place proprietary soakers as secondary preventative drainage devices on all window and door products.
Michael Petersen said "We have gone further with minimising frame penetrations, using our patented mullion connection system for interlockers and transoms. I know from first hand experience that these are areas where failures can and do occur. The best way to avoid these failures is to prevent the frame penetration, which is what our designs do."
